MIDI SKIP WASTE REMOVALS
A popular household waste removal solution, midi skips are a responsible way to dispose of moderate amounts of domestic or commercial waste. From kitchen, bedroom and bathroom revamps, to garden or yard clean-ups, they are often used for domestic jobs and minor renovation projects.
If you’re looking for midi skip hire in Cambridgeshire, Ely Skip Hire has 35 years’ experience providing professional waste disposal solutions, and as part of our green initiative we promise to recycle 95% of your waste.
MIDI SKIP HIRE
We have two skip sizes available including 6 yards skip and 8 yards skip, which can roughly hold approximately 35-45 bin bags. These sizes are suitable for most commercial jobs and moderate home projects.
Midi skips can also be a perfect back-up skip for excess waste on a construction site, especially where builders need to remove waste that can’t be mixed with other kinds of rubbish.
If you feel you need a smaller or larger size skip, we can also provide mini and large skips to cater for most waste disposal requirements.

PROHIBITED SKIP WASTE
Hazardous or Chemical Waste
If you have hazardous materials or chemical waste on your site that need removing, such as asbestos, you should have it professionally removed.
Plasterboard
We recommend finding a local plasterboard recycling centre.
Tyres
There are a number of reputable, professional recycling centres and tyre suppliers who can take your old car tyres. Another option is to check with your local boatyard or go-cart track as they may be able to repurpose them as buffers.
Televisions and Electrical Equipment
Your local authority and recycling centre may be able to dispose of your old TV, providing they are an authorised WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) treatment facility.
Fridges and Freezers
You should contact your local council who may be able to offer a collection service of your unwanted fridge or freezer. Failing that, you can check with your local waste disposal unit. You can also apply for a special collection of large waste items through GOV.UK, which covers large items such as fridges, freezers and washing machines.
Computer Monitors
Check if your local recycling centre accepts computer monitors. Some manufacturers and retailers also offer a trade-in service so it’s worth getting in touch with the company you purchased from. You may also be able to donate a fully operational computer to your local charity.
Fluorescent Tubes
Contact your local council and find out what their policies and processes are regarding the safe disposal of fluorescent tubes.
Gas Cylinders
Gas cylinders can normally be taken to your local authority who will recycle them for you. Most gas suppliers will also be happy to take them off your hands as they can reuse them.
Confidential Waste
Confidential paper waste should always be shredded and recycled.
Car Batteries
There are a number of garages, recycling centres and scrap metal facilities that will take car batteries.
